Ashu

Ashu has established an extraordinary ability to communicate with audiences around the world through his charismatic and emotive performance style, and is one of today’s most engaging and pioneering musicians. While his virtuosity continues to thrill listeners, his artistry reaches far beyond this demonstrating a unique personality and musical voice. He has repeatedly defied conventions by winning major international awards traditionally won by pianists and violinists. Critics have described him as “just as much fun to watch as to listen to” (Chicago Tribune) and “ready to cultivate the masses” (Washington Post). Ashu has developed a trailblazing career as the first and only full-time concert saxophone soloist.


Hyejin Cho

Pianist Hyejin Cho is a highly active performer who has performed across the U.S.A., Germany, Italy, Austria, England and Korea. She is currently engaged in an all-Mozart Concerti project with Northern Illinois Chamber Orchestra. Cho also performed with Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra playing Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 4. Cho is also developing a Schumann piano concert series in Freeport, Illinois, to support the community. She often performs with the award winning Koinonia Trio, which was formed in 2015 and has toured Europe. In addition to performing, she is enthusiastic about teaching, serving as a piano faculty at Center Stage Strings and as a pianist at Innsbrook Institute.



Highland Community College Big Band—Salute to Veterans

The Highland Big Band and Concert Band provide opportunities for HCC students and community members to get involved playing an instrument. These ensembles are part of a group of many fine ensembles offered by the HCC Music department. Their mission is to provide an educational and creative outlet for residents of Northwest Illinois.



Dickens Carolers

The Dickens Carolers (Ottawa's most recognized seasonal entertainment group) consists of quartets of professional singers dressed in period costumes of the Charles Dickens era (1845) performing traditional Christmas Carols in both official languages (English & French). 


Chicago Harp Quartet—A Christmas Tradition

The Chicago Harp Quartet, founded in 2012, has quickly established itself as the leading harp ensemble in the United States. Widely regarded as a Chicago treasure, the Quartet has dedicated itself to presenting innovative, charismatic and forward-thinking programs that include original transcriptions as well as new commissions from composers across the globe.
